About This Product.

Vitamin D Supreme by Designs for Health is a combined vitamin D3, K1, and K2 supplement. The pairing of D3 with both forms of vitamin K is a considered formulation choice: vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption, while K1 and K2 help direct calcium to the right places — bones and teeth — and away from soft tissues such as arterial walls. This matters because taking D3 alone, particularly at higher doses, can raise circulating calcium without adequate K to guide its deposition.

This combination is well suited to people with confirmed low vitamin D on a blood test, those with limited sun exposure (a common finding in the UK), individuals focused on long-term bone density, and anyone on a supplemental D3 dose who wants the co-factors to match. It fits neatly into a morning routine, taken alongside a meal containing some fat to support absorption of these fat-soluble vitamins.

Designs for Health is a practitioner-grade brand with a long clinical track record. Their formulations are generally designed to the specifications that practitioners actually use, rather than the lower-cost versions found on supermarket shelves. This SKU reflects that approach — a straightforward, well-reasoned combination with no superfluous additions.

Vitamin D Supreme

How to Take It

i.

Take one capsule daily, ideally with a meal that contains some fat. Vitamins D3, K1, and K2 are all fat-soluble, so taking this supplement alongside dietary fat supports absorption. Follow the dosage guidance on the packaging or as directed by your clinician.

Frequently Asked.

Why does this contain vitamin K alongside vitamin D3?

Vitamin D3 increases calcium absorption, and vitamin K — particularly K2 — helps ensure that calcium is deposited in bones rather than accumulating in soft tissues like arterial walls. The two nutrients work more effectively in combination than either does alone.

Do I need a blood test before taking this?

It is worth knowing your baseline vitamin D level before supplementing, particularly if you plan to take it long-term. A simple blood test can confirm whether you are deficient and help guide the appropriate dose. Your GP or a private clinic can arrange this.

Is this suitable if I take blood-thinning medication such as warfarin?

Vitamin K can interact with anticoagulant medications including warfarin. If you are on any such medication, speak to your doctor before taking this supplement.

How long before I notice a difference?

Vitamin D replenishment is gradual. If you are correcting a deficiency, meaningful improvement in blood levels typically takes several weeks of consistent supplementation. A follow-up blood test after 8 to 12 weeks is a sensible way to assess progress.

Can I take this alongside a general multivitamin?

Check the vitamin D and K content of your multivitamin before combining. Taking multiple products containing fat-soluble vitamins can lead to unintended cumulative doses. If in doubt, check the packaging of both products or ask a clinician.

Finally sorted my vitamin D levels

Had a blood test last autumn showing my D was pretty low — not surprising given how little sun we get here. Been taking this for about three months now and my follow-up test showed a solid improvement. What I like is that it's not just D3 on its own; my GP had mentioned something about needing the K vitamins alongside higher doses so this ticked that box without having to buy multiple bottles. Take it with breakfast, easy routine.

Good formulation

Switched from a supermarket D3 after doing a bit of reading. The addition of K1 and K2 made sense to me. Can't say I feel dramatically different but my levels are up and that's the point really.

Recommended by my nutritionist

She specifically said to look for a D3 with K2 and this was the one she pointed me toward. Been using it for around six weeks, take it with my morning eggs. No complaints — capsule is easy to swallow, no weird aftertaste. Will be reordering.

Great product, a little pricey for the quantity

The formulation is clearly well thought out and I trust this brand over the cheaper options. Only thing I'd flag is that the bottle doesn't last as long as I'd like for the price — felt like it was gone before I'd blinked. Would be better value in a larger count. That aside, solid supplement and I'll keep buying it.

Been part of my morning stack for a few months now. Works well alongside magnesium glycinate. No issues with it at all — this is the one I always come back to.

Good supplement, packaging could be better

Quality seems solid and I appreciate the thought behind the formula — not just plain D3. My one gripe is that the bottle lid is really stiff, almost uncomfortably so. Minor thing but it's a daily supplement so you notice it. Product itself does the job fine and my levels have improved since starting it.
