About This Product.

IQBAR Banana Nut is a nutrition bar formulated to support both cognitive function and physical performance. It combines plant-based protein from pea protein with almonds, and includes Lion's Mane mushroom — a functional ingredient studied for its potential role in nerve growth factor support and everyday mental clarity.

The bar suits people who want a snack that does more than fill a gap. It fits naturally into a morning routine before focused work, as a pre-gym option for those avoiding heavy meals, or as a desk-side alternative to confectionery. The low-sugar profile makes it a reasonable choice for those managing blood glucose or following a reduced-sugar diet, though as with any packaged food, checking the label for your specific requirements is sensible.

Pea protein is a well-tolerated plant protein source that contributes to muscle repair and satiety. Almonds bring healthy fats and fibre, which help slow energy release. Lion's Mane is the ingredient that sets this bar apart from standard protein bars — it is studied for cognitive support, and its inclusion here reflects a growing interest in food-format nootropics for people who prefer not to add another capsule to their routine.

For a doctor-curated shelf, the appeal is straightforward: functional ingredients, a sensible macronutrient profile, and a format that people actually use consistently.

Frequently Asked.

What makes this different from a standard protein bar?

Most protein bars focus solely on macronutrients. IQBAR Banana Nut also includes Lion's Mane mushroom, a functional ingredient studied for its potential role in supporting cognitive function and nerve growth factor — something you will not find in a typical gym-shelf bar.

Who would benefit most from this bar?

It suits anyone looking for a low-sugar, plant-protein snack that also supports mental clarity — particularly those in demanding cognitive roles, students, or people who want a clean mid-morning or pre-workout option without reaching for a capsule supplement.

Is Lion's Mane safe to consume daily?

Lion's Mane is generally well tolerated and is consumed as a food mushroom in many cultures. That said, if you have a known mushroom allergy or are pregnant, it is worth checking with your GP before adding it regularly to your diet.

Is this bar suitable for vegans?

The listed ingredients — pea protein, almonds, and Lion's Mane — are all plant-derived, but we recommend checking the packaging for the full allergen and suitability statement, as formulations can vary.

How long until I notice any cognitive benefit from Lion's Mane?

Lion's Mane is not an immediate stimulant. Potential cognitive benefits in the research tend to be associated with consistent, longer-term intake over weeks rather than a single serving. Treat it as a daily habit rather than an on-demand boost.

My go-to desk snack

Been keeping a box of these at work for about a month now. I have one mid-morning instead of reaching for biscuits, and honestly my focus through the late morning has been noticeably steadier. The banana flavour is genuinely nice — not artificial at all. Texture is a bit dense but I've grown to like it.

Solid pre-gym bar

Use it about 40 minutes before training when I don't want a full meal sitting in my stomach. Does the job well.

Great concept, slightly pricey

I really do like these — the flavour is good and I appreciate that the sugar is kept low. My only gripe is the price per bar when you work it out. At £24.99 for the box it's on the higher end for what is essentially a snack bar. I'll keep buying, but I wish there was a bigger bulk option to bring the cost down a bit.

Swapped from a well-known high-street protein bar and I'm not going back. Much cleaner ingredient list, and the Lion's Mane is the reason I picked this one specifically — I'd already been taking it as a powder so having it in a bar is a lot more convenient.

Better than expected

A friend mentioned these after she started using them before early morning runs. I'm not a runner but I tried them as a breakfast alternative on busy mornings and they work really well for that. Keeps me full till lunch, which a lot of bars don't manage.

Tasty but the wrapper is a pain to open cleanly

The bar itself is great — banana and nut flavour is well balanced and it doesn't have that chalky aftertaste you get with some plant protein bars. But the packaging tears really awkwardly; I've had crumbles fall everywhere twice now. Small thing but a bit annoying when you're eating at your desk.
