About This Product.

Equinox Kombucha is brewed in Britain from a deliberately simple base: organic Chun-Mee green tea, raw cane sugar, and filtered water. Fermentation is driven by a live SCOBY — a Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast — which gives the drink its characteristic tang, natural effervescence, and the faint sediment you may notice in the can. That sediment is a normal marker of live fermentation, not a quality issue.

One practical consequence of the fermentation process is its effect on caffeine. Equinox states that most of the caffeine present in the green tea base is naturally removed during brewing, leaving approximately 2.7 mg per 100 ml — a fraction of the roughly 40 mg per 275 ml found in brewed green tea, and considerably less than coffee at around 110 mg per 275 ml. This makes it a realistic everyday soft drink alternative for people who are mindful of their caffeine intake.

The range spans several distinct variants. The award-winning Original pairs fermented green tea with ginger juice, natural ginger flavouring, and lemon juice concentrate — clean and unfussy. The Sicilian Lemon variant uses organic juice from sun-ripened Sicilian lemons for a sharper, more citrus-forward profile. For those wanting an additional lift, the Charge variant incorporates guarana, matcha, apple, lime, and caffeine from green tea. An Equinox+ range extends the offering further with adaptogen infusions.

No artificial sweeteners are used across the range. The raw cane sugar listed in the ingredients serves as the substrate for fermentation rather than as a conventional sweetener — it is consumed by the SCOBY during the brewing process. Organic ingredients are used throughout where indicated on pack.
