This formula pairs the two nutrients with authorised immune claims, vitamin C and zinc, with two botanicals that have centuries of traditional use behind them: elderberry and echinacea. It is built for the season when everyone around you starts coughing.
Vitamin C and zinc both contribute to the normal function of the immune system, and they work through different routes: vitamin C supports the cellular side of immune defence and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, while zinc is needed for the normal development and function of immune cells. Vitamin C also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, which matters when you are run down. Elderberry and echinacea are the traditional layer. Neither carries an authorised health claim, but both have a long history of use at the first sign of a cold, which is why they remain staples of winter formulas.
It suits anyone who wants a single daily capsule through autumn and winter rather than a shelf of separate bottles, frequent travellers, and people whose work or family life means constant exposure to whatever is going around.
