The HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket V4 is a portable far-infrared heat device designed to replicate many of the thermal benefits of a traditional sauna, without requiring a dedicated room or installation. You zip yourself inside and the blanket delivers deep, penetrating heat directly to the body — raising core temperature in a way that may support muscle recovery, relaxation, and the kind of passive sweating associated with regular sauna use.
It suits a wide range of users: athletes looking to accelerate recovery between sessions, people managing day-to-day stress, or anyone who wants the sauna habit without access to a club or spa. It folds down for storage and can be used on a bed or floor, which makes it practical for home use and easier to accommodate than a fixed cabin.
Far-infrared heat is studied for its potential to ease muscle soreness, support circulation, and promote relaxation through a sustained rise in body temperature. The V4 is the current iteration of HigherDOSE's best-known product — a brand that has built its reputation specifically around infrared wellness tools. As with any heat-based recovery modality, consistency matters more than any single session. The build quality reflects a product positioned at the serious end of the consumer market, and HigherDOSE is a brand our team has followed closely for its focused approach to infrared technology.
Infrared sauna blanket

Use for 30 to 45 minutes per session, lying inside the blanket on a flat surface such as a bed or floor. Stay well-hydrated before and after each session. Follow the guidance in the product manual for heat settings, particularly if you are new to infrared use.
A traditional sauna heats the air around you, whereas far-infrared heat penetrates the body's tissue more directly without requiring the same ambient temperature. Many people find infrared sessions easier to tolerate, particularly at higher exposure durations, though both formats raise core temperature and promote sweating.
Most research on sauna-style heat therapy points to regular, repeated use rather than single sessions. Many users settle into a routine of several sessions per week, though how quickly you notice an effect on recovery or relaxation will vary by individual.
Yes — post-training is one of the most common use cases. The heat may help ease muscle soreness and support the body's recovery process. Allow your heart rate to return to a normal resting level before starting a session.
People who are pregnant, have cardiovascular conditions, are prone to overheating, or are taking medications that affect heat tolerance should consult a doctor before use. If you have any underlying health conditions, check with a clinician first.
The blanket is designed to fold down for home storage. Check the care instructions in the product manual for cleaning guidance, as the interior lining will require wiping down after each use.

I bought this after months of deliberating over the price and honestly I wish I'd done it sooner. I use it three times a week after long runs and the difference in how my legs feel the next morning is noticeable. Takes about 45 minutes per session and I just put a podcast on. Folds away under the bed which was a big selling point for my flat.

Genuinely surprised at how much I sweat in this. Was sceptical given I'd only ever used wet saunas before but the heat is deep and consistent. I use it on Sunday evenings after a heavy week of training. Sleep is noticeably better on the nights I use it.

I know £696 feels like a lot but when I worked out what I was spending on gym sauna memberships and spa visits, this paid for itself within a few months. The build quality is solid and it heats up quickly. I lay it on the bed and just relax for 40 minutes. My skin feels amazing after.

Love the blanket itself — heats up well and I feel genuinely relaxed and loose after each session. Only gripe is that the temperature controller cable doesn't reach comfortably when I'm lying flat; I have to keep it propped on my stomach which is a bit annoying. Minor thing but worth knowing before you buy.

I used to use the sauna at my gym three times a week and after my membership lapsed I bought this instead. It's not identical to a traditional sauna — the heat is drier and more focused — but for recovery and winding down before bed it's brilliant. Really happy with it.

Does exactly what it promises. Been using it for six weeks now and my post-training recovery has noticeably improved. Would recommend.
