Underbrush Mastic Mint is a natural chewing gum made with mastic gum and natural mint. Mastic gum is a resinous substance derived from the Pistacia lentiscus tree, long used in Mediterranean traditions and studied for its potential role in supporting oral hygiene and digestive comfort. Unlike conventional chewing gums, this formulation avoids synthetic additives, relying instead on the inherent properties of its two core ingredients.
This gum suits people who want a functional alternative to standard confectionery gum — particularly those mindful of artificial sweeteners, plasticisers, or synthetic flavourings common in mass-market options. It fits naturally into a daily oral health routine, after meals or as a between-meal habit.
Mastic has a distinctive resinous texture and a mild, slightly piney flavour that softens with chewing; the natural mint contributes a clean, fresh finish. It is worth noting that mastic gum is also studied for its potential antibacterial properties in the oral cavity, which may support gum health over time. As with any supplement in this category, consistent use is where any benefit is most likely to accrue. The short, transparent ingredient list is what places this on our shelves — two recognisable ingredients, nothing added to pad or preserve.
Sweetener (Xylitol), Natural Gum Base (Chicle Gum, Mastic Gum, Spruce Gum, Candelilla Wax, Acacia Gum, Myrrh Gum, Citric Acid), Sweetener (Erythritol), Natural Spearmint Flavour, Spearmint Oil, Hydroxyapatite (Nano And Micro), Colour (Calcium Carbonate), Other Additive (Magnesium Carbonate), Zinc Gluconate, Calcium Bentonite Clay, Natural Terpene Blend (Menthone, Carvone, Cineole)

Chew as desired, particularly after meals or when you would ordinarily reach for a conventional gum. Follow any specific guidance on the packaging regarding daily amount.
Mastic gum is a natural resin harvested from the Pistacia lentiscus tree, traditionally grown in the Mediterranean. It has been chewed for centuries and is studied for potential antibacterial and digestive properties.
Conventional chewing gums typically use a synthetic polymer base and include artificial sweeteners or flavourings. This product uses mastic resin as its base with natural mint — no synthetic additives.
Mastic comes from the Pistacia lentiscus tree, which is in the same genus as pistachio. If you have a known allergy to pistachio or related trees, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Natural mint contributes a fresh flavour, and mastic gum is studied for mild antibacterial activity in the oral cavity, which may help address some causes of bad breath with regular use.
Check the packaging for any specific guidance. As a general principle, excessive gum chewing of any kind can place strain on the jaw joint (TMJ), so moderation is sensible.

I've been trying to cut out artificial sweeteners for about a year now and finding a gum that doesn't have aspartame or maltitol in it was genuinely hard. This does exactly what I wanted — fresh breath after lunch, that slightly unusual resinous texture that you get used to pretty quickly, and a clean ingredient list I can actually read.

The texture threw me the first time but I'm hooked now. Tastes nothing like normal gum, which is the point I suppose.

I started chewing this after dinner instead of reaching for mints and I've noticed my digestion feels more settled in the evenings. Could be coincidence but I'll keep going. Love that the mint is subtle rather than that blasting artificial freshness you get with mainstream brands.

Really like this — clean ingredients, nice resinous chew, and the mint flavour is understated in a good way. My only gripe is the pack size. For £13.99 you don't get a huge amount of pieces, so if you're chewing after every meal it disappears in under two weeks. Wished the price-per-piece worked out a bit better.

Bought this on a friend's recommendation after she'd been using it as part of her oral health routine. Three weeks in and my gums feel healthier — dentist appointment in a month so we'll see. Either way it's replaced my old gum completely.

Unpretentious, functional, clean. That's all I needed.
