The best concierge doctors in Miami, and how to choose

The best concierge doctor in Miami sees your family the same day, at home when needed, and published fees reach $60,000 a year at TrufaMED's top tier, while ConciergeMD FL charges $10,000 a year for care at home. Before you pay, ask who will see you at each visit and what the fee leaves out.

What a concierge doctor offers

A concierge doctor charges a yearly fee in return for time and access. You can reach the doctor directly, be seen on the day you ask, and in many practices be seen at home. The fee pays for that access, so ask what is included before you compare prices.

The American Medical Association asks doctors in retainer practices to set out the terms clearly, to keep charges for amenities separate from charges for medical care, and to avoid implying that the fee buys better medicine [1]. A practice that follows that guidance will give you its terms in writing.

The model is growing quickly. Across the United States, the number of concierge and direct primary care sites grew by 83.1% between 2018 and 2023. Over the same years the share of their clinicians who were physicians fell from 67.3% to 59.7%, as more nurse practitioners and physician assistants joined them [2].

When a doctor at home is the right answer

If you would rather be seen in your own home, a home based practice suits you best. ConciergeMD FL publishes an Exclusive Home-Based Membership at $10,000 a year, with visits at home or in the office, direct access to the physician and same day appointments when clinically appropriate [3].

It serves homes within a 10 mile radius of Brickell, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Edgewater, Midtown Miami and Miami Beach, and the practice describes three board-certified physicians [3]. For a family that wants the same doctor at the kitchen table each time, that model is hard to improve on.

When a same day clinic membership is the right answer

TrufaMED in Surfside describes itself as Florida's only urgent care accredited by the Joint Commission, and one of 8 in the country. Its clinic has X-ray, a laboratory, ECG and ultrasound on site [4]. Membership runs from $7,500 a year for VIP to $60,000 for Signature, which adds a direct personal physician and house calls without a fixed number [4].

TrufaMED's page says your own primary care doctor keeps your annual physical and long term conditions, unless you add a dedicated internal medicine physician for $5,000 a year [4]. It is a strong choice for fast care from Miami Beach to Aventura, alongside a family doctor you already trust.

Sollis Health runs three centres in South Florida, including Coral Gables, staffed by doctors trained in emergency medicine [5]. Its Platinum membership starts at $12,000 a year, includes 3 house calls per member each year and covers imaging when medically necessary, and its price depends on your age and the services you choose [6]. It suits people who want urgent problems seen at once.

Hospitals, specialists and your own doctor

A concierge doctor is most useful on the day you need a hospital or a specialist. TrufaMED lists same day specialty referrals to Mount Sinai Miami Beach, HCA Aventura, UM Health, Jackson Memorial, Cleveland Clinic and Baptist Health [4]. Sollis Health offers patient advocacy and expedited referrals to specialists as part of Signature membership [5].

Ask any practice which of these hospitals its doctors can admit you to, and whether the doctor will call the specialist directly or send a referral letter. A doctor who speaks to the specialist the same day saves you days of waiting.

If you already have a primary care doctor you trust and rarely need care at short notice, a full membership may be more than you need. A same day membership or a single house call when something goes wrong can sit alongside the doctor who already knows you.

Six questions to ask before you choose

These questions apply to any practice, including ours. The answers tell you more than the size of the fee.

  • Will a physician see me at every visit, or will some visits be with a nurse practitioner?
  • Is the doctor licensed in Florida? The Department of Health lets you check any licence online [7].
  • Does the fee cover my children, and from what age?
  • How many house calls are included, and what does each extra one cost?
  • Who looks after my annual physical and any long term condition?
  • Which hospital does the doctor work with, and will they speak to my specialist directly?

Questions

How much does a concierge doctor cost in Miami?

Published fees in Miami run from $7,500 a year for TrufaMED's VIP tier to $60,000 for its Signature tier. ConciergeMD FL charges $10,000 a year for care at home, and Sollis Health's Platinum membership starts at $12,000.

Do concierge doctors in Miami make house calls?

Many do. ConciergeMD FL is built around visits at home, TrufaMED includes house calls in every tier, and Sollis Health includes three a year with Platinum. Ask how many visits the fee covers and what an extra one costs.

Is a concierge doctor the same as an urgent care membership?

They cover some of the same ground. A concierge doctor usually looks after your long term health as well as urgent problems. An urgent care membership, such as TrufaMED or Sollis Health, gives fast access when something goes wrong, and your own doctor may still keep your annual physical.

How do I check that a doctor is licensed in Florida?

The Florida Department of Health runs a licence verification search, which you can search by name, profession or licence number. It shows whether a licence is active. Any good practice will give you its doctors' full names so you can check.
