How a visit works

Step 1

Ring or message us

Ring 020 3951 3429, send a WhatsApp to 07961 280835 or book online. Tell us where you are and what is wrong.

Step 2

Agree the time and the fee

The desk tells you the earliest time a doctor can reach you and confirms the fee before anyone is sent.

Step 3

The doctor comes to you

A GMC registered doctor takes the history, examines you, treats what can be treated there and then, and prescribes or refers where that is right.

Step 4

Afterwards

Prescriptions, letters and results go into one record that you can open from any country.

Staying in a hotel

Step 1

Ask the concierge to ring us

Or ring 020 3951 3429 yourself, or message 07961 280835 on WhatsApp if your phone has data and no UK plan.

Step 2

Give us four things

The hotel’s name and address with your room number, your name and date of birth, a mobile number, and what is wrong.

Step 3

The doctor comes to your room

A GMC registered doctor comes to the room. Medicine the doctor prescribes can be dispensed to the hotel, which is a UK address.

Step 4

You pay us directly

The hotel pays nothing. You receive a receipt and a doctor’s letter written for a travel insurer, and we do not bill insurers ourselves.

Concierge desks can set up a direct line and a booking page for their guests. For concierge desks Visiting London

When to ring 999 instead

Ring 999 for chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, heavy bleeding or a serious head injury. A doctor at the door cannot do what an emergency department does, and the wait for a visit matters more than the convenience.

Outside our hours, ring NHS 111. What to do in the evening and overnight

Questions about home and hotel visits

A visit from The Wellness is from £450 and covers up to an hour with the doctor. Members in London pay £400, and Signature membership includes two house calls a year and Platinum six. Blood tests, certificates and medicine are charged separately, and the desk tells you every figure before the doctor is sent.

That depends on which doctor is free and where you are in London. When you ring or message, the desk tells you the earliest time a doctor can reach you, and you decide before anyone is sent. We do not publish a promised arrival time, because we have not measured one we can keep.

Visits are arranged while the clinic is open, 7am to 9pm every day, Saturdays and Sundays included. We do not offer visits overnight. Between 9pm and 7am, ring NHS 111 for an urgent problem and 999 in an emergency.

No. We are a private clinic. We need your name, date of birth, a telephone number and the address where you are staying, which can be a hotel.

Yes, where it is right for you. Medicine is charged separately from the visit. Bring the box or a photograph of anything you take at home. A UK doctor cannot prescribe every medicine licensed abroad, and controlled drugs have rules we follow strictly, so the doctor tells you before the visit if something cannot be prescribed.

Yes, from three months old, with a parent or guardian in the room. A baby under three months who is unwell should be seen at a paediatric emergency department, and we will say so when you ring.

Many travel policies reimburse a private consultation. You pay us and we give you a receipt and a doctor’s letter written for your insurer. We do not bill insurers directly.

A doctor comes to homes, hotels and offices anywhere in London. Our clinics are at 4 Baker Street, Marylebone, London W1H 6AZ and 9 Eccleston Street, Belgravia, London SW1W 9LX, and you can be seen at either the same day for £220 if you would rather come in.

We consult in English and in Arabic. For any other language we arrange an interpreter on the telephone before the doctor arrives.
