96.4%
of dental implants survive ten years.
Howe and colleagues, Journal of Dentistry, 2019. The same authors give a conservative estimate of 93.2%.
95.5%
of porcelain veneers survive ten years.
Alenezi and colleagues, Journal of Clinical Medicine, 2021, across 6,500 veneers.
92.6%
of root canal treatments succeed.
Burns and colleagues, International Endodontic Journal, 2022. Under stricter criteria, the figure is 82.0%.
24.1%
of composite restorations on front teeth failed in the studies reviewed.
Demarco and colleagues, Dental Materials, 2015, across 1,821 restorations. Porcelain lasts longer than composite.
At Dentistry by The Wellness, only GDC registered dentists whiten teeth. The law requires this. The General Dental Council allows only registered dental professionals to whiten teeth, and in GDC v Jamous, 2013, a court confirmed that anyone else who offers whitening commits a criminal offence. A dentist can use hydrogen peroxide up to 6%.
The most common side effect is tooth sensitivity, and stronger gels are more likely to cause it. Cordeiro and colleagues found that 10% carbamide peroxide whitens about as well as 20%, with less sensitivity (Japanese Dental Science Review, 2025). Your dentist chooses the strength that suits your teeth.
Dental anxiety is common. Silveira and colleagues found that 15.3% of adults have dental fear, in a review of 31 studies covering 72,577 people (Journal of Dentistry, 2021).
If you feel anxious, tell us when you book. We make your appointment longer, so you can go at your own pace and stop at any point.
You can check four things before you book. First, that your dentist is on the General Dental Council register and the practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission. Second, that you receive the fee in writing before treatment starts. Third, that you know who will treat you. Fourth, that your dentist sets how often you come back based on your own risk, as NICE guideline CG19 advises, and not at a fixed six months. Dentistry by The Wellness meets all four, and every fee is listed on this page.
At Dentistry by The Wellness, a routine dental check up is from £235 and takes about 30 minutes. A dentist examines your teeth, gums and mouth, takes x-rays if you need them, and suggests when you should come back. If you want treatment planned, book a smile assessment instead, from £315.
At Dentistry by The Wellness, take home whitening is from £595, in clinic whitening is from £995, and both together are from £1,295. With the combined option you keep your trays and gel, so you can top up your shade at home.
Invisalign Lite is from £4,150, and most people wear the aligners for four to six months. Invisalign Full is from £6,500, and most people wear the aligners for 12 to 18 months. Both include whitening and retainers. Your dentist confirms the exact fee after your scan at the assessment.
Porcelain veneers are from £2,450 a tooth and are fitted over two visits. Alenezi and colleagues found that 95.5% of porcelain veneers survived ten years (Journal of Clinical Medicine, 2021). Composite bonding is from £850 a tooth and is done in one visit. It does not last as long. Demarco and colleagues found a 24.1% failure rate across 1,821 front tooth restorations (Dental Materials, 2015). If composite chips, your dentist can usually repair it. If porcelain breaks, the veneer is usually replaced.
Most people are offered an appointment within the week. If you have pain, swelling, a broken tooth or a lost crown, you can book a same day emergency check up, from £375, including evenings and weekends. It includes x-rays to find the cause and treatment to relieve your pain.
No. Dentistry by The Wellness is a dental service, not a single practice. London dental specialists treat you in practices registered with the Care Quality Commission. The Wellness books your appointments, takes payment and coordinates your care. We match you with a specialist for the treatment you need.
A dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes a digital scan of your upper and lower teeth, and takes photographs. You leave with a written plan that sets out your options and the exact fee for each. The assessment takes about 45 minutes and is from £315. No treatment is done on the day unless you ask for it.
Teeth whitening is safe when a registered dental professional does it. The General Dental Council allows only registered dental professionals to whiten teeth, and limits the hydrogen peroxide a dentist can use to 6%. The most common side effect is tooth sensitivity. Cordeiro and colleagues found that weaker gels whiten about as well, with less sensitivity (Japanese Dental Science Review, 2025).

A children's check up with fluoride varnish is from £295, children's hygiene is from £155, a fissure sealant is from £125 a tooth, and an orthodontic assessment with a consultant is from £250. You receive a written plan and the exact fee before any treatment starts.
Yes. You can change or cancel your appointment free of charge up to 48 hours before. If you cancel within 48 hours, the fee is £85, because the appointment time was kept for you.
