Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement from a commercial organisation with a turnover above £36m. The London Wellness Clinic Ltd is well below that, so this is not a section 54 statement and nothing in it should be read as one.
We publish it because a public sector buyer asks for it whatever the threshold says, and because a supplier who only writes one when the law forces them to has told you something.
The London Wellness Clinic Ltd is a private healthcare company incorporated in England and Wales, operating one clinic in London and building the software its clinicians use. It employs and contracts clinicians registered with the General Medical Council and a small technology and operations team.
Our supply chain is short. Regulated clinical services are delivered through registered partner clinics, UKAS accredited laboratories and registered pharmacies. Beyond that we buy software, cleaning, consumables and professional services. The risk in that chain sits in cleaning and in consumables manufactured outside the United Kingdom, and that is where the attention goes.
Every person working for us is entitled to the National Living Wage or above, holiday and sick pay, and a written contract. Nobody pays a fee to work here, and no document belonging to a worker is held by us.
Anyone can raise a concern about working conditions, in our supply chain or in this company, to team@thewellnesslondon.com. It reaches a director and it can be raised anonymously.
New suppliers of cleaning, consumables and facilities services are asked how their own workers are paid and engaged before the first order. A supplier who cannot answer is not used.
Our clinical suppliers are registered with their own regulator, whether that is the health and social care regulator, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service or the General Pharmaceutical Council, and each of those carries its own inspection of working practice. That is not a substitute for asking, and we ask.
We have no key performance indicators on this yet and no formal training programme, so this statement records two gaps rather than describing controls we do not run. A supplier questionnaire and an annual review of it are planned for the year ending 2027.
This statement was approved by the board of The London Wellness Clinic Ltd. It is approved by the board rather than signed by a named director, because no individual is named on the pages a buyer reads, and because section 54, which is what requires a signature, does not apply to us.
