Full body MRI in Paris, prescription, price and whether it is worth it

No Paris centre publishes a price for a self-pay whole body MRI, and the nearest published offer in France is Predicto Medical, which lists a centre in Lyon and prices its scan from €2,000. Ask the centre whether it needs a prescription, because Assurance Maladie covers an exam only when one is supplied.

What a whole body MRI costs in and near Paris

As read on 14 October 2026, no imaging centre or check-up centre in Paris publishes a price for a self-pay whole body MRI. The offers below are the nearest ones with a published figure.

Predicto Medical, which lists a centre in Lyon and two in Switzerland, publishes a whole body MRI from €2,000. The scan runs from the head to the pelvis and takes about 60 minutes, with no radiation and no injection. A radiologist writes and signs the report, and a Predicto doctor then calls you to go through it [1]. Predicto also sells the scan with blood tests, starting with a standard panel of 56 biomarkers, and quotes those packages on request [1].

Prenuvo's only clinic in Europe is in London [2]. When it opened in November 2025, Prenuvo published its whole body scan there at about £2,500, with 45 minutes in the scanner [3].

Check-ups in Paris that include an MRI

Two Paris providers include MRI in a published check. Mieux offers a brain MRI and an MRI of cardiovascular age with its assessment for people over 50, and prints €4,350 before VAT for both [4]. Zoī's Ultimate, a year of care at €18,000 including VAT, lists MRI among seven kinds of imaging [5].

Ask each provider which parts of the body its MRI covers. A brain scan, a heart scan and a scan from head to pelvis answer different questions, and their prices are hard to compare until you know which one you are buying.

Do you need a prescription

The centre you contact will tell you whether it needs a prescription. We did not find a French law or an official page that settles the question for a self-pay screening scan, so we do not state a rule here.

Assurance Maladie runs a public forum where its experts certify the answers. They state that every exam should be medically justified, and that a radiologist may decline to perform one without a prescription when they cannot see a medical need [6]. They also state that an exam is covered by Assurance Maladie only with a prescription, which a specialist can write [7].

A screening scan without symptoms is therefore usually paid for by you. If you have a symptom, see a doctor first. A doctor can prescribe a scan aimed at that symptom, and a prescribed exam can be covered.

What a scan finds, and what it misses

Almost every scan finds something. A European review of 12 studies and 6,214 whole body MRI examinations in people without symptoms found an abnormal finding in 95% of them, and a finding that needed further tests in 30%. Cancer was suspected in 1.8% and confirmed in 1.1% [8].

Serious findings are less common. A review in the BMJ of 32 studies found a potentially serious finding in 3.9% of brain and body scans, and in 12.8% when findings of uncertain seriousness were counted. Where those findings were followed up, 48 of 234 proved serious [9].

A scan suits someone who wants a baseline, expects that something will probably be found, and has a doctor who will decide calmly what to follow up. It suits less well someone who would worry for weeks about a small cyst, or who has no one to explain the report. Tell the centre in advance about a pacemaker, any metal implant or a pregnancy.

The authors of the European review concluded that the studies were too varied to show whether screening this way works, and advised that these scans be reported by radiologists experienced in cancer imaging [8]. Keep up with the cancer screening your doctor already recommends alongside any scan.

Five questions to ask before you book

Ask them of any centre, in France or abroad.

  • Do you need a prescription, or will one of your doctors see me first?
  • Which parts of my body does the scan cover, and which does it leave out?
  • Who writes the report, and how soon will I have it?
  • Will a doctor go through the findings with me, in English if I ask?
  • If something is found, who arranges the next test, and is it covered by Assurance Maladie?

Questions

Do I need a prescription for a full body MRI in France?

Ask the centre, which will tell you whether it needs one. We did not find an official French page that settles the question for a self-pay screening scan. Assurance Maladie experts say a radiologist may decline to scan without a prescription when they see no medical need.

How much is a full body MRI in Paris?

No Paris centre publishes a self-pay price. Predicto Medical, which lists a centre in Lyon, publishes a whole body MRI from €2,000, and Prenuvo published its London whole body scan at about £2,500 when the clinic opened.

Is a full body MRI reimbursed in France?

A screening scan without symptoms is usually paid for by the person. Assurance Maladie experts state that an exam is covered only with a prescription, and that every exam should be medically justified.

Is a full body MRI worth it?

It is worth it for some people. In a European review of 6,214 scans of people without symptoms, 95% showed something abnormal, 30% needed more tests and 1.1% led to a confirmed cancer. It is worth most to someone whose doctor will decide calmly what to follow up.
