Since Brexit, EU/EEA citizens no longer have automatic NHS entitlements in the UK. Access depends on your specific immigration status.
If you have settled or pre-settled status, you are entitled to NHS care. Register with an NHS GP for free primary care, and use our private service for speed, convenience, and longer consultations alongside your NHS access.
If you are a visitor with a valid EHIC or GHIC, you are covered for necessary NHS treatment during your visit (including A&E and GP care for conditions that arise during your stay). However, these cards do not cover private healthcare. Private GP consultations are paid directly.
If you are working in the UK on a visa that includes the Immigration Health Surcharge, you are entitled to NHS care.
