Corporate GP services for London employers, compared

This page compares eight private GP services that London employers can buy for their staff, including The Wellness in Marylebone, where a same day GP benefit costs £215, £150 or £110 per employee per month.

How much does a corporate GP service cost per employee?

Most London providers quote by headcount and do not publish a price. Of the eight on this page, Healix publishes about £170 per employee a year plus VAT for a virtual service, and The Wellness publishes £215, £150 and £110 per employee per month. We read each price on the provider's own website on 12 October 2026.

What each provider does well

HCA Healthcare UK includes an annual health screen in every GP subscription and runs urgent care centres inside four London hospitals.

Healix is the only employer plan we found with a published price per employee, and it adds face to face physio and mental health sessions after a virtual appointment.

The London Clinic runs a private GP service 24 hours a day, usually sees people within 2 hours, visits homes across Zones 1 to 7 and publishes its fees.

Doctorcall gives staff unlimited phone and video GP and sends a doctor to the office in London, with flu vouchers that can be used at more than 3,000 pharmacies.

London Doctors Clinic offers same day appointments across more than 16 clinics and reports usage back to the employer.

Cleveland Clinic London gives each member a concierge GP who works with the specialist team, under one annual fee.

Doctor Care Anywhere sells modular cover to a business of any size, with no long-term contract.

When another provider is the right choice

Healix at about £170 per employee a year plus VAT costs about an eighth of our entry tier over a year, and suits a company whose staff are spread across the UK and are well served by a virtual GP. If most of your people work outside London, the in person half of our benefit does not reach them, and Healix or Doctor Care Anywhere will fit better. For a London team that wants many clinics to walk into, London Doctors Clinic has more than 16 sites.

Questions to ask any provider

  • Is same day access by telephone only, or can people be seen in person the same day?
  • Where are the clinics, and do they reach where our people work?
  • What does the employer see, and in what form?
  • What does the price include for a year, and what is charged on top?
  • Can we run a pilot before an annual contract?

How to read a price per employee

Put every price in the same unit. Healix’s about £170 per employee a year plus VAT is about £15 a month, and the tiers at The Wellness are £110, £150 and £215 a month.

Separate virtual care from care in person. A virtual service costs less and does not put a doctor in the room.

Ask what happens when someone uses more than the allowance.

What the evidence says

Wellness programmes on their own show limited effect. In a randomised trial across 160 US worksites, a workplace wellness programme improved some self-reported behaviours but did not change clinical markers or absence after 18 months. Song and Baicker, Effect of a workplace wellness program on employee health and economic outcomes, a randomized clinical trial, JAMA, 2019

Checks offered to everyone do not by themselves make people live longer. A Cochrane review of 17 trials found that general health checks have little or no effect on deaths from all causes or from cancer. Krogsbøll, Jørgensen and Gøtzsche, General health checks in adults for reducing morbidity and mortality from disease, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2019

Warning signs at any provider

  • A price per head with no statement of what a year includes.
  • Reports that show who used the service or why.
  • Same day access that turns out to mean a call back the next day.
  • A long contract with no pilot.

How the GP benefit at The Wellness works

Each tier at The Wellness says what it holds for a year, and is priced for a person who uses all of it. Every tier includes a same day telephone consultation with a GP, prescriptions, sick notes and referral letters, and a doctor rings the day after an appointment. The £150 tier adds same day appointments in person in Marylebone with one named doctor who knows your company, and the £215 tier adds a doctor at the office and a yearly review. You receive a monthly report of use in aggregate, and never see who used the service or why. A pilot of ten people for one month, at the tier price, comes before any annual contract.

What else people ask

Most London providers quote by headcount and do not publish a price. Healix publishes about £170 per employee a year plus VAT for a virtual service, and The Wellness publishes £215, £150 and £110 per employee per month. An employer can also buy individual subscriptions, such as HCA Healthcare UK's at £600 or £260 a year per adult. We read each price on the provider's own website on 12 October 2026.

No. A GP service pays for the doctor, and private medical insurance pays for hospital treatment. A GP service sits beside a PMI policy and does not pay for an operation or a hospital stay.

At The Wellness the £150 and £215 tiers include a same day appointment in person in Marylebone. The London Clinic usually sees people within 2 hours, and London Doctors Clinic offers same day appointments across more than 16 clinics.

At The Wellness you receive a monthly report of use, in aggregate only, and never who used the service or why. An occupational health report reaches you only with the written consent of the person it is about. London Doctors Clinic and HCA Healthcare UK also offer reports to employers.
