Care in Hong Kong, our nearest city to Guangzhou

Many people in Guangzhou begin in Hong Kong, the closest of our cities, where we arrange care with the city's best clinics and follow it through, with private GP from HK$1,200, doctor at your home or hotel from HK$2,900, executive health from HK$40,500 and full body MRI from HK$18,500.

Members are seen first, and anyone can request an appointment today. Your results and your plan stay in one record, so a doctor in London begins where a doctor in Hong Kong left off.

Care in London for people from Guangzhou

Our clinics are on Baker Street in Marylebone and Eccleston Street in Belgravia, open from early morning to evening every day. A GP appointment is £150, a doctor to your hotel is £450, and the executive physical, a full day with one physician and every result reviewed before you leave, is £2,995.

Specialist appointments and any scans or tests are fitted around the days you are in London, so even a short stay covers everything you came for.

Travelling to London for care

Holders of a passport from China are not on the list of nationalities that can apply for an electronic travel authorisation, so check on GOV.UK whether you need a Standard Visitor visa, which can cover private medical treatment [1] [2].

Health care in Guangzhou

China's basic medical insurance programme covered 1.334 billion people, over 95 percent of the population, at the end of 2023, according to State Council guidelines [3].

From 2025, people who have stayed in the programme for four years see their maximum payout for major illnesses rise by no less than 1,000 yuan for each further year of continuous membership [3].

Guangzhou's medical and health institutions employed 67,827 certified doctors, among them 9,774 general practitioners, and 95,097 registered nurses in 2023, figures supplied by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission [4].

Guangzhou had 18.83 million permanent residents at the end of 2023, across an administrative area of 7,434 square kilometres, according to the Guangzhou Statistics Bureau [5].

Tianhe, the district at the centre of the city's business life, was home to 2.24 million of them, while Yuexiu, the historic centre, is the most densely settled district with 28,402 residents per square kilometre [5].

Arranging a visit from Guangzhou

Tell your concierge, on WhatsApp or through a request here, when you could come and what matters most to you. You will hear back within the hour, day or night in Guangzhou, with appointment times to choose from before you travel.

Where a visit includes scans or blood tests, we set them early in your stay, so that your doctor can go through every result with you before you leave. Specialist appointments are arranged on the days around it, and each fee is told to you before anything is confirmed.

Time zones and travel

Tell us your time zone and we schedule calls with your doctor at an hour that suits you in Guangzhou. After a long flight, a first appointment the following morning tends to work better than one on the day you land, and your concierge can plan around that.

Before you travel, a checklist

A little preparation lets a doctor see the whole picture on the first day.

  • Your recent results and letters, in English where you can, on your phone or on paper
  • A list of your medicines and their doses, with a letter from your doctor for any that are restricted
  • The question you most want answered, written down
  • The dates you are in the city, so your concierge can plan tests and results around them

When you are home again

Your doctor can follow up by telephone or video wherever you are, and your plan stays in your record. If you need care where you live, your concierge can help you find it and send your letters ahead, with your consent.

Your letters are written in English for any doctor in Guangzhou to read, and your results remain yours to see once you are home. On your next visit, your doctor starts from the last one.
