How much does a private GP membership cost in London

At The Wellness a private GP membership costs £6,950 a year for Signature, or £610 a month for twelve months. Platinum is £17,450 a year, or £1,530 a month. Both are private primary care in London, with a doctor by phone or video from any country, and both are by application.

Signature, private primary care

Signature is £6,950 a year paid upfront, which is about £19 a day, or £610 a month for twelve months. It is your own private GP in London and a doctor wherever you are.

You are seen the same day at our London clinics, including Marylebone and Belgravia, open from 7am to 9pm every day. From any country your doctor answers by phone or video, usually within the hour. Overnight, wai answers straight away and a doctor calls you back when it cannot wait.

Each year Signature includes a blood test chosen with your doctor, up to the Advanced Health panel of fifty five markers, the flu vaccine in the autumn, two house calls and three guest passes.

Platinum, primary care and prevention

Platinum is £17,450 a year paid upfront, about £48 a day, or £1,530 a month. It includes everything in Signature and adds a named physician who plans your health with you and a personal concierge who books your appointments, tests and referrals.

Every year it includes the executive physical, a full day with your physician that costs £2,995 on its own, and the screening your age and your history call for. Your longevity plan, with bloods as it needs them, is reviewed every quarter. It holds six house calls and ten guest passes a year, and two video consultations before you travel.

Paying for the year or by the month

Both memberships run for twelve months from the day you join, and nothing renews without you. Paid monthly, Signature comes to £370 more across the year and Platinum to £910 more.

The saving is modest by design. The year is what the membership is built around, since the yearly blood test, the flu vaccine and the house calls are planned across it.

What fair use means

Membership has a limit, set well above what most people use. Signature includes up to 12 same-day appointments in clinic and 36 by phone or video a year. Platinum includes 24 and 72.

For comparison, the University of Oxford counted 100 million consultations in English general practice and found the average person has 5.16 a year. Beyond the limit, appointments are at member prices.

What sits outside the fee

Membership is private primary care, and it is not insurance. Hospital treatment, a specialist’s own fee, medicines, visits to doctors abroad and scans or tests beyond those listed sit outside it. We arrange them at member rates and give you the price first.

Member rates are 10% off scans, specialist appointments we arrange and our longevity programmes, and our partner rates for care abroad. The Longevity+ blood panel of more than 100 markers is £1,395, the executive physical on Signature £2,995 and Longevity Foundation, with a whole body MRI, £6,995, before the member rate.

Without a membership our prices are the ones on the page. A telephone consultation is £59, a video consultation £150, a same day appointment in clinic £220 and a doctor to your home or hotel £400.

How to join

Membership is by application, so every doctor keeps time for the people they look after. The application takes a few minutes. If you would rather speak to a doctor first, you can ask for that at the end of it, and a doctor calls you.

Membership against paying for each appointment

Paid one at a time, a busy year adds up quickly. Four same day appointments in clinic come to £880, four video consultations to £600, an Advanced Health blood panel to £650 and one house call to £400. That is £2,530 before a flu vaccine or a letter.

Signature covers all of that within the fee, with the same doctor each time. It pays for itself when you would see a doctor more often than that, when you want somebody planning the year with you rather than waiting to be asked, or when you want a doctor wherever you travel.

If your year looks quieter than that, pay for each appointment as you need it, at the prices on the page, and ask for the same doctor by name.

Either way, the price you see is the price you pay. Every figure here is read from the same catalogue that runs our checkout.

Good to know

Signature is the way in. If you see a doctor a few times a year, paying for each appointment is the better choice, and the same doctor will see you if you ask for them by name.

So every doctor keeps time for the people they look after. The application takes a few minutes, and you can ask to speak to a doctor before you join.

Each person has their own membership and record, and you can add everyone in one application. Guest passes cover a same day appointment for somebody who is not a member.

Membership sits beside private medical insurance rather than inside it. 6.5 million people in the UK hold that insurance, and we send the referral letter it asks for.
