The best concierge doctors in New York, and how to choose

The best concierge doctor in New York answers the same day, makes house calls and admits to a hospital you trust, and published Manhattan fees reach $24,000 a year. The right practice for you depends on whether you most need fast urgent care, a doctor at home or several specialists in one place.

What a concierge doctor is

A concierge doctor charges a yearly fee, sometimes called a retainer, in return for easier access and more of the doctor's time. The American Medical Association's Code of Medical Ethics sets out what a doctor who runs a retainer practice owes every patient [1].

Under the code, each patient must be able to decline the agreement, the doctor must explain its terms plainly and must not suggest that the fee buys more or better medical care. Charges for the extra services have to be kept separate from anything an insurer covers, and a patient who does not join should be helped to find another doctor nearby [1].

When a team that treats emergencies is the right answer

Sollis Health runs six centres in New York and the Hamptons, among them the Upper East Side, Fifth Avenue, Tribeca, Gramercy and Hudson Yards. Its doctors and clinicians are trained in emergency medicine, and its centres have labs and imaging on site, including X-ray, CT and MRI depending on the location. Signature membership starts from $4,000 a year, with house calls charged separately [2].

Platinum membership starts from $12,000 a year and includes three house calls for each member every year, with advanced imaging included when it is medically necessary, where available [3]. For a family that wants a high fever or a suspected fracture seen straight away, away from a hospital emergency department, this model is a strong choice.

Sollis also lists ongoing care for long term conditions and faster referrals to specialists among its services [2]. If you want to see the same doctor at each visit, ask whether that is how the centre works.

When specialists in one place are the right answer

Atria describes itself as a membership based practice offering concierge medicine in New York and Palm Beach, and lists 50 doctors across more than 15 specialties, among them internal medicine, cardiology, neurology and paediatrics. Its home page does not publish a membership price [4].

A practice built this way suits someone who expects to see several specialists over the coming years and wants them working from one record. Ask for the fee in writing, and ask which specialists are part of the practice and which are outside it.

When a doctor at home is the right answer

Metro Medical Direct in Manhattan looks after older adults with complex medical and psychiatric needs, and works closely with their families. It begins with a $6,000 evaluation over three visits, and membership at $24,000 a year follows only if the practice and the family agree that ongoing care is right. Membership includes house calls and telehealth, and the practice states that it does not replace 911 [5].

It suits an adult son or daughter arranging care for a parent who has several conditions and finds it hard to travel to appointments.

DOMUS offers a doctor at home without any membership. A board certified family physician comes to your home, office or hotel anywhere in the five boroughs for 45 to 60 minutes, for $475, with same day and next day appointments [6]. It suits a visitor to the city, or a family that needs a doctor now and then.

How to check a doctor before you choose

Research on concierge care is limited. A systematic review published in 2025 found little evidence so far that concierge medicine changes clinical outcomes, and found that patients and doctors report greater satisfaction with it [7].

The New York State Education Department's Office of the Professions licenses physicians, and its website lets you verify a licence online and search for enforcement actions [8].

Ask too which hospitals the doctor can admit patients to. If the doctor has no admitting rights, a hospital team takes over your care when you need a bed, and it helps to know which team before that day comes.

  • Will I see the same doctor at every visit?
  • How quickly will a doctor answer on a weekday evening or a Sunday?
  • Which hospitals can you admit me to?
  • What does the fee include, and what is billed to my insurer or charged on top?
  • What happens to my care if I decide not to renew?

How our care in New York will be different

We are building the clinic around one doctor for you and your family. Your doctor will know your history and your results, will see you on the day you ask and will bring blood tests, imaging and specialists together, so you tell your story once.

Founding membership in New York is from $22,000 a year. Children will be seen from three months old, with a parent or guardian in the room.

Questions

How much does a concierge doctor cost in New York?

Published fees in Manhattan reach $24,000 a year at Metro Medical Direct, after a $6,000 evaluation. Sollis Health starts from $12,000 a year for Platinum and $4,000 a year for Signature, and a single house call from DOMUS costs $475.

Is a concierge doctor worth it?

A concierge doctor is worth most to someone who will use the access. Ask how quickly the doctor answers and whether you will see the same one each time.

How do I check a doctor's licence in New York?

Use the website of the New York State Education Department's Office of the Professions, which lets you verify a physician's licence online and search for enforcement actions. Ask the practice too which hospitals its doctors can admit patients to.

Several practices make house calls. Sollis Platinum includes three a year for each member, Metro Medical Direct includes them in its membership, and DOMUS sends a family physician to homes, offices and hotels across the five boroughs for $475.
