If you want treatment planned, your first appointment is a smile assessment. It costs from £315 and takes about 45 minutes.
At the assessment, a dentist examines your mouth and photographs your teeth. They also take a digital scan, which is a 3D image of your teeth made with a small handheld wand.
Before you leave, you receive a written plan with the exact fee for each treatment in it. Your plan and its fees are valid for six months. The assessment fee stays the same, whatever your plan recommends.

A dental check up costs from £235 and takes about 30 minutes. Your dentist examines your teeth, gums and mouth, takes x-rays if you need them, and gives you advice on caring for your teeth. The fee depends on whether you need x-rays.
Dental hygiene with airflow costs from £225 and takes about 45 minutes. Airflow cleaning uses a fine spray of air, water and powder to remove staining. Hand scaling, also included, removes hard deposits with small hand instruments.

In clinic whitening costs from £995. A GDC registered dentist whitens your teeth in one appointment of about 90 minutes.
Take home whitening costs from £595. It includes trays made from a scan of your teeth, the gel and a review when you finish. Whitening in clinic and at home together costs from £1,295.
Whitening at Dentistry by The Wellness is carried out by GDC registered dentists. The General Dental Council allows only registered dental professionals to whiten teeth, and the court case GDC v Jamous confirmed this in 2013.
Invisalign Full costs from £6,500, and most people wear the clear aligners for 12 to 18 months. Invisalign Lite, for smaller changes, costs from £4,150 and usually takes 4 to 6 months. Both fees include whitening, retainers and every review appointment.
Composite bonding costs from £850 a tooth. Composite is a tooth coloured resin that your dentist shapes onto the tooth, in one appointment of about 60 minutes. Composite edge bonding on 8 to 10 teeth costs from £6,500, in one appointment of about three hours.
Demarco and colleagues, in Dental Materials in 2015, found that 24.1% of 1,821 composite restorations, or repairs, on front teeth had failed.
Porcelain veneers cost from £2,450 a tooth. A veneer is a thin porcelain shell, made in a laboratory, that covers the front of a tooth. Your dentist fits it over two visits.
Alenezi and colleagues, in the Journal of Clinical Medicine in 2021, estimated that 95.5% of porcelain veneers were still in place after ten years.
Gum contouring costs from £1,650. Your dentist reshapes your gum line under local anaesthetic, so your teeth look even in size.
A smile makeover costs from £25,000. It plans straightening, whitening, and veneers or bonding as one course of treatment. Before it starts, you receive a written plan, a fixed quote and a digital preview.
A single implant with its crown costs from £5,250. An implant is a small post placed in your jaw to replace the root of a tooth. The fee includes planning from a scan, the implant, the abutment that connects it to the crown, the crown and reviews while it heals.
Full arch implants cost from £24,000 an arch. The fee includes four implants that hold a fixed set of teeth, temporary teeth on the day of surgery, and your final teeth once you have healed.
Howe and colleagues, in the Journal of Dentistry in 2019, estimated that 96.4% of implants were still in place after ten years. The authors consider a second estimate from the same review, 93.2%, the more realistic figure.
A ceramic crown costs from £1,750. A crown is a cap that covers a damaged tooth. It takes two visits, and you wear a temporary crown in between.
Specialist root canal treatment costs from £1,350, or from £1,750 on a back tooth, called a molar. An endodontist, a dentist who specialises in the inside of the tooth, carries it out using magnification.
Burns and colleagues, in the International Endodontic Journal in 2022, found that root canal treatment succeeded in 92.6% of cases by a broad measure and in 82.0% by a strict one.
A night guard for grinding, made to fit your bite, costs from £950.
A children’s check up with fluoride costs from £295 and takes about 30 minutes. It includes an examination, x-rays if needed, advice on brushing and diet, and fluoride varnish, a coating that helps protect teeth from decay.
Children’s hygiene costs from £155. A fissure sealant costs from £125 a tooth. It is a protective coating painted onto the chewing surface of a back tooth.
A children’s orthodontic assessment costs from £250. A consultant orthodontist checks whether your child needs braces or aligners, and when to start.
A same day emergency check up costs from £375 and takes about 30 minutes. Your dentist takes x-rays to find the cause and treats your pain. If you need more treatment, you receive the fee before anything starts.
