Using your Freedom cover with a private GP in London
The Wellness sees Freedom members the same day in Marylebone and Belgravia, or at their hotel or home in London, and writes the report as each consultation ends. What Freedom pays for is set by the member’s own policy.

If you are a Freedom member
Whether a visit is covered depends on your policy. With your agreement we can ask Freedom for a guarantee of payment before you are seen. Where direct settlement is not in place, you pay at the visit and we give you an itemised invoice and medical report for your claim. Most Freedom policies pay for consultant care after a GP referral. Our GPs refer to consultants Freedom will fund, and we check the name with you before the letter is written.
Freedom asks you to see your GP before you claim, and a private GP appointment in London is one way to do that within the day.

How Freedom works
Each line is read from Freedom’s own website, with the date we read it.
Freedom says that if you are unwell or injured you must first see your GP for advice before making a claim.
Source Checked
Freedom recommends asking your GP for an open referral, which is not addressed to a specific provider.
Source Checked
Freedom asks members to call after seeing the GP and before treatment starts, a step it calls pre-authorisation.
Source Checked
Freedom says a private referral from its digital GP is not a claims authorisation, so you still contact Freedom before treatment.

Questions
Do I have to see a GP before claiming on Freedom?
Freedom says you must see your GP for advice first. A private GP appointment with us counts as that visit, and the referral letter is written the same day.
Is a referral from your GP enough to start treatment?
No. Freedom asks you to call it after the GP and before treatment starts, which it calls pre-authorisation. Our letter is what you have in hand when you call.
Should the referral name a specialist?
Freedom recommends an open referral, which is not addressed to a particular provider. Our GPs write it that way when you tell us you are a Freedom member.
Does Freedom pay for the GP visit with you?
We have no agreement with Freedom. You pay at the visit and keep the itemised invoice and report for anything your policy allows.
Can I see the same doctor again after the specialist?
Yes. The same GP can see you after the consultant appointment, read the letter with you and carry on your care.
