Using your Vitality cover with a private GP in London
A Vitality member in London can be seen by a private doctor the same day, in clinic or at the hotel. We can ask Vitality for a guarantee of payment before the visit, with the member’s agreement.

Whether a visit is covered depends on your policy. With your agreement we can ask Vitality for a guarantee of payment before you are seen. Where direct settlement is not in place, you pay at the visit and we give you an itemised invoice and medical report for your claim. Most Vitality policies pay for consultant care after a GP referral. Our GPs refer to consultants Vitality will fund, and we check the name with you before the letter is written.
Vitality takes a referral from your own GP as well as its own, so a letter from our GP is a starting point for a claim in the Vitality Care Hub.

Can I use a referral from your GP with Vitality?
Vitality says a claim can start with a referral from a Vitality GP or your own GP. A private GP at The Wellness can write that referral, and you then start the claim in the Vitality Care Hub.
Does Vitality pay for a GP appointment at The Wellness?
We have no agreement with Vitality. You pay at the visit and receive an itemised invoice and a medical report for any claim your policy allows.
Do I need a GP for physiotherapy or mental health support?
Vitality lets members self refer for both without a GP, if the plan covers them. For anything else, a GP referral comes first.
Why see a GP in person when Vitality GP is included?
Vitality GP appointments are by video. Members come to us to be examined in person in London, to have blood taken the same day, or for a doctor at home.
Can you refer me to a consultant Vitality will fund?
Most Vitality policies pay for consultant care after a GP referral. We write the referral and check the consultant with you against what the Care Hub shows before you arrange it.
